WHAT IS RYLA? –
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is an intensive leadership experience organized by our local Rotary district (District 5400) where youth participants develop skills as leaders while having fun and making connections. Each year, the Burley Rotary Club selects 1-2 candidates from those who apply and sponsors them for RYLA participation – including covering the cost of sending them to the leadership camp (a $550 value).

WHAT HAPPENS AT RYLA?
Each student is assigned to a “Family” Group of 10 kids with 2 Rotarian leaders (l male and l female). These groups are the vehicle to process the day’s events, build teamwork, and integrate the positive examples of leadership, ethical behavior and constructive group dynamics.

By investing in our youth today, the RYLA committee believes that we have an insurance policy for our future. Enthusiastic students return to their schools and their communities with an increased sense of self confidence and self esteem and better equipped to implement the fundamentals of leadership in their every day lives.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? –
High School Students who will be Juniors in the fall through outgoing Seniors are eligible to apply.

WHEN AND WHERE IS IT? –
RYLA Camp will be held FRIDAY AUG 1st – MON AUG 4th, 2025 at Camp Cascade in Donnelly, ID.

DEADLINE –
The deadline to apply for the current year is on Aril 15th. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by May 15th.
