Join Burley Rotary

Interested in learning more about our club and possibly joining with us? Please visit the “About Us” section of our website to learn all about who we are and what we do as a local club and international organization. Rotary membership is not just a privilege, but a commitment to the service of others, both locally and internationally.

Why become a member?

Rotary is more than 1.2 million passionate individuals in more than 45,000 clubs worldwide. We are both an international organization and a local community leader.

Membership in a Rotary is by invitation only and we are always looking for leaders who are willing to grow, learn, and get involved. The Burley Rotary Club offers a great opportunity for leadership development for yourself and/or the organization you work for.

Rotary is an organization of successful professionals. Team building, fundraising, public speaking, planning, organization, and communication are just a sampling of the leadership skills that club members can exercise and enhance. Being a Rotary leader provides further experience in learning how to motivate, inspire, and guide others.

BENEFITS OF ROTARY

  • Develop Leadership Skills and serve in leadership roles.
  • Network and “rub shoulders” with prominent business individuals in our area.
  • Participate in service opportunities that allow us to “pay it forward” and bless the lives of many.
  • Become an “ambassador for good” by utilizing your influence to spread truth and goodwill.
  • Become more informed about community, national, and world events through weekly programs presented to the club.
  • Effect change within the Burley community by working with other civic-minded members and individuals.
  • Effect change in the world by leveraging the power of our international organization.

Becoming a member of the Burley Rotary Club represents a commitment of time and resources, but we also recognize that we all have very busy lives. Most of our members are business professionals who are already very busy in their own professions; many are also heavily involved in other groups, organizations, churches, and projects. We see membership in this club as an additional way to be involved in the community, serve others, act as ambassadors for good works and actions, and as an opportunity to pass on our love for service to the next generation who will follow us.

Required -

Below are the primary “expectations” of membership:

  • WEEKLY MEETING COMMITMENT – Meet each Tuesday at 12:05 PM for our club meeting. The meeting includes lunch, club business, and then a 30-45 minute program.
[We know you are busy and we understand that many times you just wont be able to make it.]

  • PROGRAM COMMITMENT – Each week, we have the opportunity to listen to a program presented by a local business, organization, group, club, society, etc. As a club member, you’ll have the opportunity to help us find and invite different groups to come and present to us.
[Don’t stress this one…it’s easier than you think and as a club we’ll help each other out with ideas and connections]

  • SERVICE PROJECT COMMITMENT – Participate in some of our club service projects planned throughout the year. Better yet, help us plan some!
[We try to keep most projects simple, targeted, and manageable]

  • FINANCIAL COMMITMENT – Burley Rotary Club Members are invoiced quarterly for dues and meals. Our quarterly fees are currently set at $275. Those fees are “roughly” broken down as follows:
    • $26.00 – Rotary International: member dues, general liability insurance, council on legislation, and Rotary Magazine subscription.
    •  $11.00 – Rotary District 5400: Dues that go toward our district. Many of these dues come back to our club in the form of grants.
    • $235.00 – Meals: Including gratuity, taxes, venue charges, etc.
    • $3.00 – Other Club Expenses: Postage, guest coins, etc.
  • Note: If meeting every Tuesday is not possible, there is a “Dues + Lunch” membership opportunity available. The fees for that are currently set at $90 per quarter + $16.00 for each meal consumed during the quarter.

Encouraged -

Like most things in life, you generally get out what you are willing to put in. Membership in the Burley Rotary Club can be SO MUCH MORE! And you will likely find several members ready and willing to dive in deeper with you!
